Greensville County Three Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant
The Authority operates four wastewater treatment facilities. They are the Three Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant, Falling Run Wastewater Treatment Plant, Jarratt Wastewater Treatment Plant, and Skippers Wastewater Treatment Plant . The Three Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant is a .750 MGD Activated Sludge Plant with chemical and biological nutrient removal capabilities. This plant contains the central laboratory that serves the other facilities and performs analysis such as total nitrogen, ammonia nitrogen, biological oxygen demand and total suspended solids on effluents of the plants and plant processes. This plant serves the public in the areas north and west of Emporia, including the Greensville Correctional Facility. The Falling Run Wastewater Treatment Plant is a .160 MGD Rotating Biological Contactor Plant and strictly a biological process. This plant serves the public in the areas south, southeast and southwest of Emporia. The Jarratt Wastewater Treatment Plant is a .160 MGD Aerated Lagoon Facility and serves the Town of Jarratt and areas south and west of the town's corporate limits. The Skippers Wastewater Treatment Plant is a .036 MGD Rotating Biological Contactor Plant and strictly a biological process. This plant serves the public in the area of Skippers. These plants have a operating staff which include five operators and a chief operator who are licensed by the State of Virginia and are monitored by the Department of Environmental Quality. Operational staff are responsible for analytical testing, maintenance of the plants and an overall responsibility for discharging a clean effluent to the receiving stream.
